Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actor who was famous for her portrayal as the fiery lawyer Teri Joseph in the Showtime series Soul Food. After her wedding, she is also known by the name Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland. As a child, she displayed the desire to act and was awarded the Best Actress Award in the Maryland High School Contest. She received her degree in acting from the New York University after working at 'The Washington Ballet Company' as well as on stage. Her first major role as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought the most admiration. Then came movies like "Boogie Nights Spark" and Blue Streak. Soul Food received a lot of reviews for her work. Her appearances also appeared in TV programs like Second Time Around" and Empire. In the past she was a part of numerous performances on stage. Parker is engaged to Boris Kodjoe, an actor and model. The couple has two children.
Contractor, who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning 7years old, traveled all over all over the world and had a taste of diverse cultures when he was a kid. She attended boarding school at the age of 7 to 9 in London. After that, she and her family returned home to Toronto (Canada) where they spent her entire childhood. Contractor trained and eventually became an expert in classical dancing in Toronto. She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a fine arts institution focused on dance and theater. Contractor began her acting career at 16, following nearly 10 years of dancing. She accepted a full-scholarship to study at the University of Toronto after graduating. She earned a master's in theatre, and double majored in social and psychology. After a single year at University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles at the world-class famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and was offered the leading role. Her performance was lauded in the 92 plays she appeared in. The play won her an award in 2002, which was awarded to the Best Production of the Year, as judged by Canadian Critics. The opportunity was presented to her to join Stratford Conservatory. The school allows only eight males and four woman to take a course in traditional theater. Contractor was eager to accept. The actor's involvement in the upcoming season of plays was confirmed, and she received the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
